SURVIVAL BASEBALL RULES

INTRODUCTION
Survival Baseball will be hosted  by OfficeFootballPool.com.  This site will handle all the picks, deadlines and standings, and you will be able to see who everyone picked while the games are in progress.

JOINING THE POOL
To join Survival Baseball you will first need to visit OfficeFootballPool.com.   If you are not already registered on this site it is very easy to do so–takes less than one minute.    Link = http://www.officefootballpool.com/pools.cfm?p=2&poolid=58401&pwd=Spring2017    Poolid = 58401.    Password = Spring2017.

ALIASES
Aliases can be used to make multiple entries into the pool.  Check the FAQ page on the website to find out more about Aliases.

OBJECT OF THE GAME
You pick one major league baseball team per week and they need to win at least half of their games for you to advance to the next week.  If they win less than half their games then you are eliminated.

DURATION
The contest begins Monday, May 8 and will continue through the last full week of the season if necessary. (no postseason).  The pool will be on hiatus during the week of the All Star Game.

BASEBALL WEEK
For the purposes of this pool, a week starts on Monday at 8:00 AM ET and ends the following Monday at the same time.

WINNING THE POOL
The winner is the person who advances to the latest week.

TIEBREAKER
In the unlikely event that multiple entries advance to the end of the season, it will be considered a tie and the grand prize will be divided equally. If ALL survivors should ever be eliminated in any week other than the last week, everyone who was eliminated in that week will be revived and returned to the pool.

TEAM RESTRICTIONS
You may only pick a team once for the duration of the pool.  For example, if you pick the Rockies in one week, you can never pick them again.

PICK DEADLINE
The pick deadline for this pool is Monday at 10:00 PM ET.  However, once a game starts, picks for the teams involved in that game are locked and can’t be changed or entered.  You can only enter or change picks for teams that haven’t started playing that week.

AUTOPICKS
The website does not have an Autopick feature for Survival Game Baseball.  If you forget to enter your pick the pool manager will assign you the team the best record that you haven’t picked yet that has not yet won during the current week.

RAIN OUTS AND SUSPENDED GAMES
If a game is rained out or suspended, the results of that game are not counted until the game is completed.  If your picked team plays fewer games than expected, they still must win 1/2 of their games that week.  So if they only play 4 games, they need to win 2.  If they play 5 games, they need to win 3.

DOUBLEHEADERS
If your team plays a doubleheader or more games than are on the original schedule, all the games count. So if they play 7 or 8 games in a week, they must win 4 for you to advance.

MANAGER PICKS
Survival Game Baseball has the ability to change anyone’s pick anytime.  If changes are made after the pick deadline or after the games start, the picks will be flagged in the standings so everyone knows manager picks were made.

ENTERING PICKS
Each person will be responsible for entering their own picks on the website.  To enter picks, you need to sign into the website with your own personal screen name and password and go to My Picks for the picksheet.

CONFIRMING PICKS
It is the responsibility of all players to confirm that their picks are accepted properly by the website.  There are many ways to do this.  One, is to get a pick confirmation email.  When entering picks, check the box to receive a pick confirmation and the website will send it to your registered email address.  The second way to confirm that your pick was accepted is to return to the picksheet, not by using your browser’s back button, but by clicking on the PICKS link.  If your pick was accepted it will be prefilled on the picksheet.  A third way to confirm your pick is to check the standings page.  If your pick is in, it will show up on the standings or poolwide picks page.

DISPUTES
It is the responsibility of all players to ensure that their picks are entered correctly and on time.  If there is ever a discrepancy between what the website shows and what the player says he/she entered, the website will be considered correct.  If there is ever a discrepancy between what the website shows and a pick confirmation email, the website will be considered correct. If a player waits to the last minute to enter their pick and has trouble for any reason, including website malfunctions, internet connections, acts of nature, death, hangovers, or any other reason, that person will either get an Autopick as described above.

ENTRY FEE
The entry fee is $50 per entry. You may enter as many times as you wish. Once you sign up, a Pay Pal invoice will be sent to your email address. You may pay by Pay Pal, with a credit card by phone, or by check or money order payable to BoxScore Baseball.
